In this video, Dr. Mayank Nanavaty describes 9 tips for successful cataract surgery with aniridia ring segment insertion in an aniridic patient. Despite of the surgeon’s best knowledge and experience, these cases can prove to be challenging due to several reasons including breakage of iris ring segments, entrapment of segments, over-riding and interlocking of the ring segments, entrapment of haptics, zonular dialysis, ruptured posterior capsule, anterior capsular tears and anterior chamber migration of ring segments.
