Glaucoma, Surgical Management
In this video, Dr. Davinder Grover demonstrates how to use the Grover-Fellman microshunt spatula to needle a Xen 45 implant at the slit lamp. This spatula has a blunt, thin tip that minimizes the risk of perforation when manipulating the subconjunctiva. The surgeon uses firm posterior sweeping motions to break down scar tissue and dissect the Xen from both the conjunctiva and sclera.
Dr. Grover describes the limitations associated with subconjunctival glaucoma devices in this interview from AGS 2019.
