    Summary

This presentation by Dr. Roger Steinert explains his current technique for applying femtosecond laser for the creation of the interface in deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK). The challenge historically with DALK has been the poor visual outcomes, attributed mostly to a rough, variable interface for the transplant tissue. Dr. Steinert suggests using a mini-bubble technique: multiple low-power, widely spaced passes of femtosecond laser to acheive a more regular and smooth interface.
