This prospective, observational case series measured accommodative amplitude in 69 patients (92 eyes) before cryotherapy treatment for lattice degeneration and through nine weeks of followup. Significant reductions in accommodative amplitude were seen only in patients in their 10s and 20s after one and three weeks. Accommodative amplitudes recovered to pretreatment level by six weeks. Greater decreases in acute accommodative amplitude were observed with administration of increasing numbers of cryotherapy spots.
