Researchers prospectively measured blood pressure and IOP over six months in 61 patients with controlled hypertension and 74 nonhypertensive patients treated with intravitreal bevacizumab (Avastin) for various retinal vascular diseases. Systolic and diastolic values remained similar to baseline in the hypertensive group, but 30-minute systolic values were significantly higher and one-day diastolic values significantly lower than baseline in the nonhypertensive group. Mean 30-minute IOP was significantly higher than baseline IOP in each group and mean one-day and one-week IOP significantly lower.
