• Retina/Vitreous

This retrospective analysis of participants in the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study finds a cumulative incidence of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) to be 1.4 percent over a mean follow-up of 9.1 years. Although RVO was more frequent in the observation as compared with the medication group, consistent with previous studies implicating elevated IOP as a risk for RVO, this difference did not achieve statistical significance. Consistent with some previous studies, older age and larger horizontal cup-to-disc ratio at baseline were found to be statistically significant predictive factors for the development of RVO.
