Researchers use a simulation model to forecast the epidemiology of AMD in a variety of treatment scenarios for the years 2010 through 2050, and found that expanding use of antioxidant vitamins in patients with early AMD and using anti-VEGF therapy to treat subfoveal CNV can reduce the levels of future AMD-attributable visual impairment and blindness by as much as 35 percent.
