Although steroid drops such as Pred Forte and Durezol are effective, they tend to raise IOP and cause cataracts. Systemic steroids are also a good option but can increase the risk of diabetes and hypertension, and affect emotional ability. Immunosuppression is a good option for patients who require long-term therapy but cannot be sustained on systemic steroids.
