Radiographic and Clinical Correlation of Microphthalmos with Cyst

Dr. Richard Allen presents both the imaging appearance and gross appearance of a microphthalmic eye with cyst. The axial T2-weighted MRI shows a cystic lesion posterior to the microphthalmic globe, which appears to be connected to the globe in the optic nerve. On the coronal cut, the cyst was found to be inferomedial to the optic nerve. The patient underwent enucleation due to an inability to wear a scleral shell over the microphthalmic globe.
