    AAO 2022 Video Program
Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty, Cornea/External Disease, Diagnostic & Imaging

The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in various corneal surgeries, such as deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty, and sclerocorneal cyst removal. Diagnostic OCT acts like a third eye, helping us see beyond the visible. By employing near-infrared light, OCT penetrates into the ocular media to obtain high-resolution images of the intraocular structures. Intraoperative OCT is a noninvasive imaging modality that provides real-time, dynamic feedback of the various surgical steps. Combining this technology intraoperatively with the operating microscope has proved extremely useful.
