Novel Surgical Approaches for the Management of PUK

    AAO2021 Video Program
    Cornea/External Disease

We present videos of two approaches for the surgical management of peripheral ulcerative keratitis (PUK). The first one involved what was essentially a deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) procedure, which utilized a full-thickness donor tissue after removing the endothelium and Descemet membrane. The second procedure involved a crescentic lamellar keratoplasty using a freehand anterior lamellar graft. Each procedure will be divided into three sections: Step 1, Preparing the recipient bed. Step 2, Harvesting the donor graft. Step 3, Securing the donor graft to the recipient bed.
