Subconjunctival Glaucoma Surgery: Patient Selection and Pearls

    Glaucoma Subspecialty Day 2022
    Glaucoma, Open-Angle Glaucoma, Surgical Management

In this presentation from Glaucoma Subspecialty Day 2022, Dr. Vikas Chopra reviews subconjunctival, or bleb-forming, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Bleb-forming MIGS is generally used for moderate to advanced glaucoma and targets outflow pathways similar to traditional glaucoma surgery. It typically results in a robust intraocular pressure reduction, can be a standalone procedure or combined with cataract surgery, and lowers the number of glaucoma medications needed. Dr. Chopra provides data for and demonstrations of different surgical approaches, along with information on patient selection.
