Surgical Management of Epithelial Ingrowth in Visually Debilitating Complex Penetrating Corneal Trauma

We present herein a case with successful removal through a manually created lamellar flap and seal accomplished with an ocular bandage sealant. A 35-year-old male had a tree-branch corneal injury of two years' duration with irregular astigmatism and epithelial ingrowth. Exploratory lamellar corneal trauma exposure was performed, creating a manual triangular flap. The ingrowth was removed and the flap secured with ocular sealant. Uncorrected visual acuity improved from 20/200 to 20/50; corrected distance VA, from 20/200 to 20/25; there was no more ingrowth and refractive error was +0.75 -1.75 @ 85° at 1 year follow-up
