Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting
Eye muscle surgery is a risk factor for postoperative nausea and vomiting. This risk can be reduced by prophylaxis with dexamethasone and serotonin type 3 (5-HT3) antagonists (eg, ondansetron), propofol use, adequate hydration, and reduced use of inhalation anesthetics and opioid analgesia.
