Chapter 6: Perimetry
Factors Affecting Perimetry Results
Many factors may affect the results obtained from perimetry, including the patient’s level of attentiveness, the perimetrist’s administration of the test, and other variables, such as refractive correction. The interaction between the perimetrist and the patient is fundamental to enhance the chances of successful perimetric testing.
Patient
Individuals vary in their attentiveness and response time from moment to moment and from day to day. Longer tests are more likely to produce fatigue and diminish the ability of the patient to maintain peak performance.
