  • Dr. Li is associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She has been a practicing surgeon and retina specialist for 16 years. Her research includes diabetic retinopathy and digital imagery standards for clinical research and telemedicine.

    Dr. Li co-edited the report, “Telehealth Practice Recommendations for Diabetic Retinopathy,” which was published in the American Telemedicine Association's journal, Telemedicine and eHealth. She is chair of the American Telemedicine Association's Ocular Telehealth Special Interest Group and has been an active member of the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network. Dr. Li is also completing a fellowship in ocular oncology at the Willis Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
