  • Dr. Ma specializes in refractive and complex cataract and corneal surgery. His research is focused on clinical refractive, cataract and corneal surgery and the application of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

    Dr. Ma completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed a two-year subspecialty fellowship in refractive surgery, corneal surgery, keratoprosthesis research and external diseases at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School.

    Dr. Ma is on the faculty of the University of Toronto. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ma has received awards and honors for his many academic achievements, papers and posters. He has lectured internationally and has published book chapters and peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading ophthalmic journals. He is also a frequent reviewer for these journals.
