  • Dr. Zegans has been on the faculty at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H., since 1998, where he is a professor of surgery and of microbiology and immunology. His clinical focus is on uveitis and corneal diseases. He is a co-investigator for the Steroids for Corneal Ulcers Trial (SCUT) and Mycotic Ulcer Treatment Trial (MUTT), both of which are funded by the National Eye Institute, and also conducts research on bacterial biofilm formation. Dr. Zegans is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and other publications.

    He completed medical school and an internship at the University of California, San Franicsco (UCSF). His residency in ophthalmology was at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, after which he completed a cornea/uveitis fellowship at the Francis I. Proctor Foundation for Research in Ophthalmology at UCSF.
