IOL Haptic Reversal: Solutions and Prevention

Dr. Ashish Sapkal demonstrates how to recognize a reverse opened leading haptic of an IOL (closed C loop designed hydrophilic acrylic) before injecting it into the eye. If the reverse haptic is not recognized and not corrected during the procedure, it can lead to zonular dialysis. The source of the problem is how the IOL is oriented when it is placed in the butterfly-type cartridge prior to folding.
