Retinal Vessel Printings on Fundus Autofluorescence Imaging Represent Retinal Displacement: Proof of Prior Hypothesis

    7th Annual Global Video Contest
    Retina/Vitreous

Overlay with pre-RD and post-RD FAF revealed severe displacement. Overlaid color images demonstrated overlap of choroidal vessels with substantial displacement of retinal vessels. Shiragami hypothesized that RVPs commonly occur after PPV and represent retinal displacement. We prove that Retinal Vessels Printings (RVP's) are aligned with the prior location of retinal vessels and that retinal displacement is likely substantially worse than seen on post-operative FAF. Surgical techniques should be refined to minimize risk of retinal displacement.
