    In b zone (black arrows), there is marked atrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium and the large choroidal vessels can be easily seen. Alpha zone (white arrows) is peripheral and adjacent to b zone and is characterized by a region of irregular hypo- and hyperpigmentation.
