Treatment of Orbital Blowout Fractures: Rethinking the Dogma

In this interview from AAO 2019, Dr. Reza Vagefi shares his thoughts on the timing of orbital fracture repair. The two current schools of thought for repair are addressing the fracture within 2 weeks of injury or waiting for all the edema and ecchymosis to resolve first. He notes surgical interventions should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis because there is a growing body of research supporting delayed fracture repair.
