    DALK with Big-Bubble Technique

By Francis W. Price Jr., MD
    Cornea/External Disease

In this case of keratoconus, Dr. Francis Price performs a deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) using the big-bubble technique to detach Descemet's membrane, sparing the inner membrane and endothelium. The donor and recipient tissues are previously incised with femtosecond laser in a zigzag pattern that provides a secure, interlocking interface between the surfaces.
