Thomas S. Harbin, MD, examined strains in the ethical fabric of ophthalmology and addressed day-to-day, practical situations in which routine decisions and care of patients bump up against the medical and/or financial interests of the patient. The lecture illustrated the need for attendees to consider the ethical dimensions in all that they do.
