After LASIK surgery, when would it be OK to go back to work at a bar that allows smoking?

Question:
I'm getting LASIK surgery tomorrow afternoon. I work in a bar. A very smoky bar as Tennessee still allows smoking in bars. I was wondering when I can expect to be able to go back to work in such an environment.
Answer:
I would wait three days for adequate flap healing. Any discomfort from smoke after that will really be just an irritation. Artificial tears that your surgeon can recommend should be used frequently at work for the first 2 to 3 months.
