Are we close to a cure for AMD?
While we have made great advances in the treatment of the wet form of AMD (when abnormal blood vessels grow in the back of the eye), we still do not have a cure and I would be overstating our current knowledge to say that we are close to a cure. Nonetheless, there is an extraordinary amount of ongoing research by superb vision scientists looking at this major issue.
