Can my daughter fix the scar on her eyelid so she can wear contact lenses?

Question:
My daughter has trouble wearing her contact lenses in one eye because the optician said she has scar tissue underneath her eyelid. Can this be resolved? The "bump" causes her contact to move around on her eye after blinking.
Answer:
It would be useful for your daughter to see an ophthalmologist. She would determine if there is a mass of tissue such as a chalazion, stye, nodule or a scar under your daughter’s eyelid. Once you know the type, you can discuss treatment with the ophthalmologist.
