Can I have cataract surgery only on the worse eye?
AUG 25, 2016
I have cataracts in both eyes, one worse than the other. The doctor recommended surgeryon both eyes. I can see well out of the better eye so why do I need surgery on it? Can I have it only on the worse eye?
Your doctor will never make you have surgery. However, I notice that in many cases, once the worst eye sees better, you will notice the cataract issue in the “better” eye. At this point it is all truly relative. Also, in some eyes which are very nearsightedor farsighted, removing both cataracts helps the eyes balance together in a better way optically.
