Can I have PRK after laser retinal surgery?
AUG 08, 2021
Question:
Can I have PRK after retinal laser treatment? I had a few
retinal tears and holes treated, and my doctor told me that I have a weak retina.
Answer:
In general, past treatment for retinal tears or holes should not prevent you from having PRK (refractive surgery). In fact, if you have a “weak retina,” it often is recommended that any retinal tears or holes be treated with laser prior to PRK to reduce the risk of retina problems after PRK.
