Can I place my contact lenses in the fridge overnight?

Question:
Can I place my single wear daily contacts (sealed from the manufacturer) in the fridge overnight and put them on the next morning? I would put them on the next morning to alleviate puffy red eyes from crying the night before.
Answer:
There is no harm in refrigerating unopened packets of disposable contacts. However, you should never wear your contacts if your eyes are puffy and red. This could lead to a corneal infection.
