Can I remove my dermolipoma for cosmetic reasons?

Question:
I have a small dermolipoma that makes my eye look more red then other. Could a doctor place some sort of graft over it to make that area look more white and matching or could eye whitening work over the birth defect?
Answer:
Oculoplastic surgeons can remove dermolipomas (a tumor present in the eye at birth) in the operating room for cosmetic reasons. However, removing a dermolipoma is not necessary since it is benign and rarely enlarges. Other treatments are not effective.
