  • Can rosacea cause burning in your mouth and tongue?

    Question:
Can rosacea cause burning in your mouth and tongue?

    Answer:
Rosacea is a skin condition that can make your face flush (get red) and cause pimple-like lesions to form.

In the eyes, patients can suffer from rosacea blepharitis or ocular rosacea which inflames the meibomian glands (oil-producing glands) of the eyelids. Patients complain of eyelid swelling, discharge, burning, itching, and redness. Oral symptoms such as burning in the mouth are not typical symptoms of rosacea.
