  • Can you wear contacts with a macular hole?

    Question:
Can you wear contacts with a macular hole?

    Answer:
Yes, you can still wear contact lenses if you have a macular hole but it will not help correct the vision impairment completely due to the macular hole. If/when you have surgery for the macular hole, it is recommended to ask your surgeon when it is safe to resume contact lens wear following surgery. Your prescription may change following repair of the macular hole.
