I had toxoplasmosis about eight years ago and have a scar in my left eye. Is it safe to switch from glasses to contact lenses?
The prior diagnosis of ocular toxoplasmosis will not impair your ability to switch to contact lenses. The contact is placed at the front of the eye so it would not affect any existing toxoplasmosis scars in the retina at the back of the eye. Be sure to clean and handle your contact lenses as instructed by the manufacturer and your prescribing eye care professional.
