How long to wait between eyes for cataract surgery?
FEB 21, 2014
Question:
My 95-year-old dad just had successful cataract surgery and now wants the other eye done. How long should he wait in between?
Answer:
This is primarily up to the wishes of the patient. Second eye surgery is routinely scheduled one week or longer after the first surgery, assuming that the ophthalmic surgeon agrees that the first eye has done well and that the second eye can be done.
