  • Is My Daughter's Lazy Eye Inherited?

    My husband obtained a lazy eye after an eye injury and multiple surgeries. Now our newborn was born with one and it’s the same eye. Is there a chance she inherited it from him even though he wasn't born with it?


    Answer:

    While some cases of strabismus or eye misalignment appear to be inherited, there is no reason to believe that your husband’s injury and eye condition were inherited by your daughter.
