Does covering artificial light sources with blue paper help reduce blue light and UV radiation?

Question:
My daughter’s science teacher has covered all of the lights (fluorescent, panel, LED) with blue paper or other material. He claims that this is to stop/reduce the amount of UV radiation in the room and to improve vision. Of course, not only does this make the room dimmer, it also makes the room darker and the light bluer. How is making the light in the room appear blue reducing the amount of blue light/UV radiation? Everything I’ve found from reputable sources says that, if anything, we need to reduce the blue light, not increase it; what am I not understanding?
Answer:
There is no scientific basis for the actions of your daughter’s science teacher. Ordinary lightbulbs of any kind used for room lighting or otherwise are not associated with any harm to the eyes or to vision.
