    Question:

I was recently diagnosed with dry eye and I wondered if it was possible for dry eye to cause your sclera to turn a slight yellow color under the bottom eyelid and at the sides of the eye?

    Answer:

No, dry eye does not cause the yellow color. This is typically what we call pinqueculae which are somewhat raised, yellow tissues on the surface of the sclera which have no pathological significance. There is some thought that arid environments and UV light can cause irritation or an increase in size of the pinquecula.
