Exercises for double vision and nystagmus?
FEB 07, 2014
Question:
I am an occupational therapist. I am working with a young lady, 29, who has nystagmus and double vision after a car accident. Are there any exercises that would help her double vision and vestibular nystagmus?
Answer:
It sounds like she had traumatic brain injury. There are no exercises that will help nystagmus. However, she should see a pediatric ophthalmologist. Pediatric ophthalmologists specialize in children's eye disorders and adult strabismus. It is possible that surgery or prisms may help. In the meantime, you could apply scotch tape to glasses on one side to minimize the double vision.
