If I have macular pucker after cataract surgery, will my intraocular lens still be effective?

Your IOL should still be effective. We choose an IOL based upon a number of measurements including the length of your eye, and the spacing of several chambers within the eye. A recurrence of the pucker will not affect those measurements, unless you need to go back for further retinal surgery. Ultimately, you might need a pair of glasses to fine-tune your vision.
