Question:
Is brain function or memory affected from acquired blindness/vision loss?
Answer:
In general, brain function or memory loss are not affected by acquired blindness or vision loss, should the cause be limited to the eye itself. However, it is not uncommon for vision loss to be associated with other neurological conditions. In those circumstances, the underlying condition that has caused vision loss may also cause changes in memory or other neurological functions.
