Is it OK to wait a month for macular hole surgery?
MAY 02, 2018
Question:
I have been diagnosed with a macular hole stage 3 and my surgery is not scheduled until a month from now. Is that OK?
Answer:
There is no clear consensus on the urgency of macular hole surgery. In most cases, the timing is linked to the duration of symptoms. If the symptoms/diagnosis is quite recent, then there is more reason to perform the surgery sooner.
