Is it normal that everything looks pink after cataract surgery?

Question:
I had cataract surgery today. Is it normal that everything looks pink out of that eye? It’s like there is a red light in the house and everything looks like it has a pink glow.
Answer:
Yes, it is normal to see a red color or hue after surgery to remove a cloudy lens, or cataract. Initially, your vision may have a red hue that progresses to pink, then gray and then your vision returns to normal. The cause is a result of light from the operating microscope bleaching out your retina cells and you are seeing the after image which is red in color. It should disappear in a few days.
