  • Is there treatment for scar tissue after removing chalazion?

    Question:

Is there any treatment for scar tissue after chalazion surgery? I had a chalazion surgically removed a few months ago and although there is no redness, there is still a lump of scar tissue on my eyelid.

    Answer:

Yes. Your ophthalmologist may suggest hot packs and massage or injection of the eyelid with a small dose of steroid or other scar reducing agent. There also could be residual granulation tissue that may take time to resolve.
