JAN 22, 2015
Question:
My mother has been diagnosed with a disease called Wernicke-Korsakoff and her right eye has completely closed shut. Is this related to the disease or could it be something else?
Answer:
Wernicke-Korsakoff is a serious condition associated with a vitamin B1 deficiency. It can cause changes in eye movements (ophthalmoplegia) and in rare cases a droopy eyelid (ptosis).
