• Ocular Dominance Testing

My granddaughter has strabismus (her left eye turns up) and wears prism glasses. Her P.E. teacher has the students hold their hands out in front of them in the shape of a triangle so the teacher can determine eye dominance for shooting arrows. He determined that she is left eye dominate, even though she is right handed. I would like to know if her glasses or the strabismus could make this test inaccurate.

There are multiple methods of determining ocular dominance and this common technique is termed sighting dominance. About 60 percent of people are right eye dominant for this type of sighting test. I do not think the glasses or the history of strabismus will make the test inaccurate.
