What is an Ocular Response Analyzer?
JUL 18, 2014
Question:
Is an Ocular Response Analyzer used to measure the size of an eye after the natural lens has been removed during cataract surgery to choose the correct IOL (intraocular lens)?
Answer:
The Ocular Response Analyzer simply tests the flexibility of the cornea. It has nothing to do with eye size or lens implant selection. There is another "ORA" system that measures the correction of the eye during surgery, and once the cataract is removed that can help pick the lens implant power and astigmatism correction.
