Repeat Cataract Surgery
MAR 12, 2014
I had cataract surgery and the wrong IOL was implanted—what are the risks of replacing it with a new one?
The risks of repeat surgery are perhaps lower than the original surgery because now no cataract has to be removed. In experienced hands, it is relatively easy to remove and replace the implanted lens but unfortunately, there is always a chance of infection or inflammation with ANY surgery.
