  • Ocular Rosacea Treatment

    Question:

I have a very faint pink area on a small part of each cheek diagnosed as rosacea. My eyes are my problem. I see no crust but they burn and look bloodshot. If I have my face lasered to get rid of the rosacea, will that prevent my eyes from getting rosacea again in the future?

    Answer:

Rosacea is a chronic problem. It may be treated with oral antibiotics, topical antibiotic gels or creams or even laser therapy. The eye symptoms are treated with lid scrubs and antibiotic ointments. The laser may not provide a long term cure but may help your symptoms for a length of time.
