Question:
How soon after having cataract surgery in one eye can you have it done on the other eye?
Answer:
The timing of surgery in the second eye certainly depends on individual circumstances. Because a period of blurry vision is normal following any eye surgery, you certainly want to be able to see adequately with the first eye before undergoing surgery on the opposite eye. There are circumstances where patients are typically eager to have their second surgery performed soon after the first. An example might be where there is a large difference between the prescription of the two eyes. This question is best addressed by the individual’s eye surgeon.
